Artist Statement |

My art represents the marriage of my two great loves: photography and fiber. Such an odd union – current digital technology and ancient textile techniques. Here I make peace with my early training and career as an advertising art director and fiber art that has always provided an essential escape from the stress of a chaotic business world. Many years ago I left the art world to pursue another career but the creative spirit remained deep inside. It finds release when I use graphic design software to digitally manipulate my photographs. And it comes full circle when I print the images on fabric so I can create a relief effect with centuries-old quilting and embroidery techniques. The result is a photographic image with greatly enhanced depth and an invitation. I invite you, the viewer, to become part of the scenario; to become part of my world.
