Tattered Treasure

While I was visiting my mom who is 88 years young I gathered her old drawings and brought them home with me. This picture she drew influenced me to make this kimono jacket.

I transferred the drawing to a Jacquard silk fabric sheet and then constructed the kimono from my mom’s old curtains and napkins. I embellished it with her gloves, jewelry, more pictures, and old coins from 1921, the year she was born.
