Artist Statement

Having a traditional quilting background, I am self taught in the art of art quilting.  I’ve been experimenting with art quilting for almost 10 years, and although I have tried numerous surface design techniques, I seem to gravitate back to using commercial fabric in a raw edge or fused collage.  Design and composition excite me the most, as does the narrative and hidden meaning in a piece.  Klee, Miro, and Gauguin are my favorite artists.
