Explorations in Color Using the
Seven Principles of Design

Anyone who ever thought the elements and principles of design were dull and boring academic concepts never took Valarie Goodwin’s class! Valarie explained the difference between the elements and principles and then showed examples she and her students created. These concepts came alive as we made small samples of each principle and explored how we could use them to greatly improve our art. We explored the principles even further by building on layers of stitching, painting sections, fusing sections, and adding more stitching.  Everything came together in the final critique as we shared how our work evolved and was enhanced by the principles at each stage of the process.

We look forward to offering more workshops of this caliber.
